Summary

The NFL employee code has been question by many people. They wonder why it takes a law enforcement investigation to get a player in trouble when he does something bad. The NFL said that Ben Roethlisberger sexually assaulted a women but they later said that he had not been living up to their code of conduct and this was not his first act of doing something wrong. Two other people that had problems with the NFL's code was Tom Brady and Antonio Cromatie. Tome Brady was criticized for leaving his girl friend and raising his son by himself until he met Gisele Bundchen his new wife. Antonio Cromatie was criticized for having 7 different children with 5 other women in different states. Both men slipped away from the spot light on them because they did not pay attention to the media and the hours that were spent talking about them on sports shows.

Connections

In this article it relates to the part in the text book that says employee policies. The policies of the NFL does not let its athletes disobey the law. If this was Ben Roethlisberger first time being accused of doing something, the NFL could simply warn him but since they said that this was not his first time the NFL should be taking this seriously and possibly thinking of suspending him at least until his trial is over. The security policies in the book says that the employee should not waste money of the company but Ben Roethlisberger is wasting money and also making the NFL look bad.

Reflection

I think that the NFL should suspend their players if they do act inappropriately. The NFL should not wait for the public to react first. It would draw more attention to the NFL and make it look like they have control over their players if they acted first. This article proves that the NFL cares more about their appearance in the public eye then about there players and what happens to them. I think it also matters if the player is a crowd favourite and if he is a good athlete. I think a bad athlete would not get in as much trouble as a player that earns millions of dollars.
